Walnuts Ghriba

Ingredients :

500g walnuts 125g Granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 tablespoon apricot jam 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar 1 tablespoon melted butter For rolling:

Powdered sugar Orange blossom water Decoration:

Walnuts Instructions:

1-In a food processor, grind the walnuts until you get a fine mixture. 2-In a large bowl, add walnuts, sugar, jam, vanilla sugar, baking powder and mix with your hands then add the two eggs and mix all together until well combined. 3- Add the melted butter and continue mixing until you have a soft slightly sticky dough. 4-Set aside for 5-7 minutes uncovered 5-In a small bowl add orange blossom water and in another bowl the powdered sugar 6-Rub some orange blossom water into your hands and roll the dough into small balls the size of a walnut. 7- Once you roll a cookie ball, dip it in the powdered sugar until it’s completely covered with sugar. 8-Place the balls in a baking pan lined with parchment paper to stop them from sticking. Give a little tap to the cookies balls to flatten them a bit.(leave space between the cookies as they expand during the baking). 9-Decorate the cookies by placing a walnut at the top of each cookie press gently down.

10-Preheat your oven to 180 C.

11-Bake the cookies for around 12 minutes 12-Once baked let the cookies rest and cool in the baking tray, when cooled you can plate up and enjoy. Bon appétit!
